Culture Cinema 2021 Announces Official Selection *75 Films from 21 Countries to be shown at the Film Festival*.
Mumbai – 8th July 2021 - Culture Cinema 2021, a unique concept-based film festival that aims at celebrating world cultures via cinema is in the offing for Indian and global audiences, has announced the Official Selection of films. As a part of the official selection, 75 films coming from 21 Countries have been selected for this festival. In this, there are 42 films that fall under the competition section and 33 films under the non-competition section. A unique category of super shorts was introduced under the non-competition section. Films will be available to watch through the festival’s streaming partner, MovieSaints, and will be available globally to movie lovers.
Culture Cinema 2021 has a great Jury mix of acclaimed filmmakers, directors, writers, and cinema educators from across the globe. Jury members include Ramesh Tekwani, Vinod Ganatra, Ritesh Taksande, Theodora Malliarou, Jitendra Mishra, Monarose Sheila Pereira, Gabriele Brennen, and Vedakumar Manikonda.
Praveen Nagda, Festival Director, Culture Cinema 2021 informs, “It is interesting to note that we have got some really great films exhibiting the diverse cultural aspects from across the world. It is a great representation from countries across continents in this visual treat of world cultures not only for movie buffs but also for the common people. Culture Cinema Film Festival will also feature intellectual exchanges, filmmaking workshops, panel discussions, and open forums with global participation. The festival is being supported by UNESCO New Delhi Office, CIFEJ, and JLF Litfest, among others. Culture Cinema believes in enhancing the potential of culture as a means of achieving prosperity, sustainable development, and global peaceful coexistence.
Culture Cinema 2021 had invited entries from the global filmmakers on 21 unique aspects of culture including History, Music, Festivals, Art & Artisans, Architectural Heritage, Education, Social Practices, Travel & Tourism, Literature, Mythology, Traditional Sports, Biodiversity, Cultural Reforms, Attire & Ornaments, Food, Traditional Medicine, Cultural Taboos, Tribal Community, Diaspora, Battles and Philosophy.
Originally, scheduled to be organized on the UN-declared World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue & Development falling upon the 21st of May, the festival will now begin on July 17th owing to the sudden resurgence of the second wave of Covid19. Films will be available to watch through the festival’s streaming partner, MovieSaints, an online box-office and comprehensive technology provider for independent filmmakers and festivals. For independent films it offers solutions like secured global releases. For festivals and film clubs it offers a customized, global virtual venue to host all kinds of film related events.
