Narappa- 20 July 2021

A Telugu adaptation of the Nationa Award winning Tamil superhit film Asuran, this film follows the protagonist- Narappa, a regular farmer hailing from a quaint village in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. In a dramatic turn of events, Narappa is forced to flee into the depths of the forests along with his younger son Sinabba, who happens to murder an upper-class landlord in a fit of rage to avenge his older brother’s death. As the tale unfolds, the audiences witness a collision in the father-son ideology, when Sinabba accuses Narappa of being a coward. Gradually, stories from a dark past resurface as a father continues to fight for his son against a deeply prejudiced judiciary.

Sarpatta Parambarai- 22 July 2021

Set in the 70s, Sarpatta Parambarai is not just a regular sports movie about boxing. It also showcases the culture and lives of the boxing clans that existed in North Madras in the 70s. At the centre of the story lies two rival clans - Sarpatta and Idiyappa, who are constantly locking horns in a duel to safeguard the pride of their respective clans. The film, with a backdrop of sports, illustrates the nuances of an era, rife with cultural and social changes.

Ikkat- 21 July 2021

Ikkat, which means ‘congestion’ or ‘to be in a tight situation’, much like the lockdown, is a witty bag of laughs which follows the lives of an unhappily married couple who are on the verge of getting a divorce. With the announcement of the 21-day lockdown in India, they are left with no choice but to forcibly spend time with each other. The film follows the daily routine of this couple stuck together who begin to experience some unprecedented surprises that pepper their lives from time to time. Seemingly mundane instances like a neighbor borrowing some ‘essential’ items, are amusingly brought out through dialogues and stupendous comic timing of the artists throughout the movie.
