13 July 2022, New Delhi: The Governance Challenge (TGC) 2022, India’s first national governance case competition is now live. The competition has been rolled out for 25 premier business schools and public policy schools in the country. The top three teams will win cash prizes worth ₹9,00,000 along with goodies, certificates, and individual Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) opportunities with Samagra, a mission-driven governance consulting firm.
Every year, TGC will focus on a case study based on 1 governance domain in 1 state that affects millions of citizens. In its inaugural year, TGC is being supported by the Government of Haryana, with Samagra as the Organising Partner and Unstop as the Platform Partner. The finalist teams will get the opportunity to pitch their solutions to the Chief Minister of Haryana, interact with a panel of marquee impact investors, and receive mentoring from IAS officers & top industry leaders. TGC finalists will also undertake a curated two-day field visit for an immersive bottom-up understanding of grassroots governance.
Commenting on the launch, Gaurav Goel, CEO & Founder, Samagra said, “There is a strong need to get the best minds in the country to engage with the most complex challenges facing our country. While corporate case studies are ubiquitous in business schools, the social impact ecosystem sensed the need for creating a governance case competition that gives students in both business and policy schools an opportunity to solve very real governance problems. The Governance Challenge is a step in that direction.”
The competition will have three rounds, namely ‘Campus round’, ‘Nationals round’ and ‘The Summit round’. Participating teams will be provided with the required support through all the rounds, with respect to reference materials, buddies for feedback, mentorship and so on, to devise game-changing solutions.
Registration closes on 29th July, 11:59 PM. Students can register on Unstop: https://bit.ly/TheGovernanceChallenge
