"Maa Kaali": A Cinematic Revelation Unveiling Bengal's Hidden Tapestry, Championing the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 March 04, 2024, Hyderabad,
In
response to the electrifying buzz surrounding the imminent announcement of the
Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 regulations by the Ministry of Home
Affairs (MHA) in March 2024, People’s Media Factory, the avant-garde film
production house from Hyderabad, proudly presents its much-anticipated multilingual film, "Maa Kaali."
Unleashing a visual spectacle, the film's print and audio-visual poster, revealed
this Monday, offers a tantalizing sneak peek into the tapestry of Bengal's erased
history. Raima Sen's dual portrayal as the formidable Goddess Kali and a
mysterious Burkha-clad woman, set against the backdrop of Bengal's map and
evocative newspaper clippings, promises an immersive cinematic experience.
The poster's intricate design masterfully weaves together the Bengali word "MAA"
with "CAALI," a linguistic symphony that prompts viewers to dive into the
complexities of the much-debated issues that have gripped the country. Directed
by the visionary Vijay Yelakanti and produced by the industry stalwart T.G. Vishwa
Prasad, "Maa Kaali" is more than a film; it's a promise. A promise to deliver a
powerful narrative that digs deep into Bengal's historical saga, shedding light on
the challenges faced by its resilient people.
While the MHA has yet to officially confirm the timeline for the CAA regulations,
insiders have hinted at a groundbreaking revelation before the enforcement of
the model code of conduct. The CAA, led by the visionary Prime Minister Narendra
Modi, aims to extend Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants who
sought refuge in India before December 31, 2014, hailing from Bangladesh,
Pakistan, and Afghanistan, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and
Christians.
